The Value of Downtown Seattle Condos Continues to Skyrocket
According to NWMLS data, downtown Seattle values are skyrocketing as the median home price for in-city resale condominiums increased a staggering 35% year-over-year. The sharp increase in value is indicative of Seattle’s continued struggle with population growth, rising real estate prices for both renters and buyers, and a supply and demand imbalance with little relief in sight.
On September 26th more than 400 registered guests joined industry thought leaders during the 2017 “State of the Market” Event held at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle. The second panel, The FutureCast Forum, which was moderated by Dean Jones, Principal of Realogics, Inc. and CEO of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, consisted of a well-thought-out group of individuals and covered relevant industries that will impact the future of real estate.
It was announced Monday that Chinese tech powerhouse, Baidu, will open an engineering office in the Seattle region. According to GeekWire, the leading Chinese-language Internet search engine, "has expanded in recent years in areas ranging from financial services to artificial intelligence — seeking breakthroughs in computer vision, speech recognition, deep learning and natural language understanding. Baidu is also making a big move into the public cloud, which will be another major focus for the new office."
